This week has been a little different for children around school, with year 6 SAT's happening, so there were many changes to deal with, changes to rooms, assemblies, P.E etc but we'd like to say a big thank you for being very understanding and supportive and quiet around school to give year 6 children the best environment to succeed! Well done Team AC!!
Literacy - Reading the first two chapters of James and the giant peach, looking through the text to find words that were difficult or descriptive words they'd like to use in their own writing. Finding the meaning of words in the dictionary. Writing similes to describe Aunt sponge and Aunt Spiker from the story. Maths - Recapping maths content in preparation for KS1 SAT's number bonds, partitioning numbers, times tables, ordering numbers, reading scales, more than, less than and equal to, addition problems, time, money. Different maths activity maps each morning for morning maths covering a range of topics. Art - Making art pieces in the style of artist Sarah Zapata, using pieces of wool on cardboard. One group working on sewing. Geography - Looking at a compass, understanding the points what they mean, then drawing and labelling their own. P.E - different cheerleading routines and working on a section of their routine. Spanish - recapping greetings, learning numbers to 20, learning to say how old you are. Music - learning a new part to play on the xylophones from the song 'three little birds.' Science - Looking at their experiments over time. Starting our new topic: What plant and animals need to be healthy including humans.
