Today we all had a go at our first food activity of the year- decorating our own biscuit! There was so much learning in this activity. The children used icing sugar and learnt to pour it carefully onto their biscuit and then spread it with their spoon. It was great for developing their fine motor skills! Then they chose sprinkles to add to the top and used their pincer grip to pick them up and sprinkle them onto their biscuit- there was so much concentration involved!
Throughout the activity, the children noticed that the icing was runny, wet and sticky and by home time it had set and gone hard- lots of Scientific learning here too.
