Literacy
This week Team JF started a new unit of learning, poetry. To begin with, we discussed the word poetry and what it meant to us. From this, we rotated around the room to different adults to listen to a range of poems. As we gained a better understanding of the different styles, we started to think about what we liked a nd disliked a bout them. As the week progressed, we started to understand shape poetry and explore the features of these. We also started skill building to write our own shape poems. We had a session focused on alliteration and produced some amazing examples based on a range of images. RE This week we started learning about Diwali, otherwise known as the festival of light. The children explored what Diwali is and how it is celebrated. The children enjoyed discussing this and how this is similar to some of our own celebrations. The children created some of their own amazing Rangoli patterns and enjoyed listening to some traditional music too!
