In October last year we held a Boccia competition at Park Street through Team Activ. We then qualified from this event to the Winter School Games at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. We came up against 7 other schools from Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield. Through lots of hard work and determination we came out as South Yorkshire Boccia Chamions 2018. The children showed a great attitude and this helped them lift the trophy. Well done to all those children involved you are a credit to Park Street.

On Monday 29th January we hosted a Seated Volleyball competition which was run by Team Activ. We had around 20 children take part in the event and High View PLC also brought a team. It was a great afternoon with lots of children being involved. Thank you to Team Activ for running the event, and High View for bringing there team across. On 25/01/18 we had a very special guest attend our school. Professional football referee Darren England came in to deliver a lesson to our year 5 and 6 children. The children came up with new idea's to design new or improve existing referees equipment. All the children loved taking part and we would like to thank Darren for his time and effort.
One of our year 3 and 4 boys football teams finished champions of Barnsley winning the final via a penalty shootout. With our goalkeeper Daniel saving two penalties. On the day we had two teams take part, one was unfortunate not to qualify and tried there best in what turned out to be a very tricky group. Like the girls football this meant that our winning team qualified for the South Yorkshire finals. We ended up finishing 6th on the day, but a massive credit to all the boys that took part. Just getting to a South Yorkshire final is a big achievement in itself. Well Done. In September/October our year 5 and 6 girls qualified for the Barnsley football finals which we then went on to win and become 2017/18 champions. We also had another team who made it through to the Barnsley finals but unfortunately they just missed out on the day. Through winning this event we then automatically qualified for the South Yorkshire finals. These finals were held on the 16th January and the girls finished a very respectable 3rd place. Well Done to all the girls involved you were a credit to Park Street. "The primary school sports premium has been used well to train teachers and employ a specialist sports coach. As a result, increased numbers of pupils attend sports clubs and they are having greater success in local competitions, for example, the girls’ football team recently got through to the finals of the South Yorkshire football tournament."
