WPSPS Junior Reader Leaders.
Today a reader, tomorrow a leader...
At Wombwell Park Street Primary School, we believe that reading is a key life skill and strive high to make sure all children exit our school with reading skills which will equip them in becoming successful, independent readers. This is something the school is incredibly passionate about, and relies on commitment from both teachers and students alike. As a school, we champion pupil voice, and believe this is hugely important in continuing to ensure that we provide the very best core offer for our children. As such, in June 2019, we established our Key Stage 2 Junior Reader Leader team. The driving force behind this, was to provide those children who have clear love of reading with the chance to make a difference to the wider school approach. Meetings are held regularly with Miss C Baxter (KS2 Literacy Lead) and ideas are turned into actions as we strive to improve our school even further. Below you will find a summary of meetings from the 2024-25 academic year and the way we encourage our young minds to shape lives.
