The school has adopted a standard form of dress, as staff and Governors feel that this will prepare the children well for later in life when they progress on to the next stage of their learning journey and eventually in to their place of work.
Pupils are encouraged to wear:
For PE, children require:
All clothing should be clearly marked with your child’s name! Lost property is in the entrance to school and is emptied at the end of every half term. Any 'new' garments which do not have lables in will be re-sold for a small fee, every so often. JewelleryThe wearing of earrings by pupils in school continues to present serious problems of safety and security especially during PE lessons and during periods of recreation.
This can be a hazard at school particularly when young children are playing together. As a general rule we prefer children not to wear jewellery. However, if children have pierced ears they may wear small studs only. In line with Local Authority guidance, all children must be able to remove their own jewellery for PE otherwise exclusion from the lesson will be necessary. We advise parents who intend to have their child’s ears pierced, to do so during the summer holiday to allow 4 – 6 weeks healing time. Other forms of body piercing are not allowed at all. If it becomes apparent that any child is wearing any other form of body piercing jewellery they will be asked to remove it immediately. Failure to do so will result in suspension from the school. We hope that you will understand the risk for this strict ruling especially when you consider many horrific and painful injuries could occur in PE lessons, as a result of wearing earrings. |
