T-L T - I love phonic because I learn new sounds and words and I can make sentences.
I like science because I like nature and experiments. I like ICT working on the laptops on purple mash finding out how to do things. I like making things at school the most. MW - I really like maths because we do lots of times tables. I like literacy I like writing dictated sentences, especially because i have worked hard on my handwriting. Science is good because we learn lots I like the I predict part. Phonics is good because I like learning about new things, like the nursery rhyme ring o roses this week. I like all of the teachers and TA's in my class and spending time with my friends. A big focus for Team AC this week has been mindfulness, what emotions people feel. We looked at clips of inside out the film to help us understand, joy, sadness, anger, disgust and fear. Each child gave examples of what makes them feel sad, happy etc... We looked at what may help people feel calm when emotions are getting too much from us, the children came up with fabulous ideas; sleeping, listening to water/rain, getting comfy clothes on, walks, hot milk.... the list goes on. We have had some mindfulness time this week with mindful colouring, music, taking a minute with our eyes shut to calm and children will have the opportunity to try some herbal tea, they were very interested in trying some when the adults talked about what they do/have to feel calm. This week we have made two displays for our class, one with all the children's visions (a type of New Years resolution) for 2023 we hope you like this on our window for you to see. Another is a find your calm display to help remind the children to try to have a calm approach in their lives. This is a work in progress we will post a picture soon. Music is something Team AC really enjoy, playing instruments, singing and even dancing to music is something we love to do. This week the children have been back to learning how to play the xylophone. We brushed up on our skills from before the holidays and then we started to look at the tempo of blues music which is much slower. Here is a little video of our music lesson, one partner plays while the other is singing and taking note of the beat. Well done everyone. We have 4 new spelling superstars in team AC for the last half term. Our superstars haven't necessarily got 10 out of 10 each week but they have greatly improved with their spellings, they have handed in their homework each week and they have tried their best. We are so proud of you. Keep up all the hard work on your spellings! Spellings homework will be sent out again this week and are usually tested on a Tuesday.
A huge welcome back to all of Team AC, it is amazing to see you all back, so happy, focused and ready to learn! Well done for being able to wear non-uniform because our fantastic team won attendance for last half term! Keep up the good work, we're sure you will though as you were all back today ready and raring to go. |
