This week in maths team CH have been using base ten to represent numbers beyond 10. We have focussed on being able to count accurately, partition and form numbers 0-9.

This week in art we have explored the use of patterns and colours to create some fabulous art work.This week we have been reading the story of Rapunzel. We have been exploring the use of adjectives to help us describe the villain in the story, the witch! We used adjectives to describe the personality and appearance of the witch in our character description.This week in maths Team CH have been counting objects. Team CH have explored how two digit numbers are made up of tens and ones.This week in science we have began to explore the difference between an object and the material.This week in Geography team CH have been exploring human and natural features. Whilst out side we created a map to guide us back to school.During our first week as year ones we have been practicing using correct sentence structure. This has supported us in creating our time word posters. we have explored capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.In team CH we have been exploring objects and their physical properties. We have been able to make comparison between a variety of materials such as, wood, plastic, glass, water and describe their physical properties. Through observing the change in season and weather conditions we were able to predict which material would make the best shelter and why. We then carried out our own experiment to see which material would be the most suitable.
