Welcome back Robins! I hope you have all had a lovely Easter holiday and spent lots of time doing many exciting activities with your family!
This half term our topic is "Watch It Grow!" This week our topic is "Minibeasts" and our story is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. If you haven't got the story book at home, here is the link to the story online https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75NQK-Sm1YY This week if possible I would like you to go into your garden and go on a minibeast hunt! Alternatively you could have a hunt for them during your daily walk. Follow the link below to the Woodland Trust website where you find lots of resources to help you on your hunt. There are fact sheets and spotter sheets and activities including making a minibeast palace! http://treetoolsforschools.org.uk/activitymenu/?cat=minibeasts You could draw pictures and create a minibeast book for your family. You can use the book together to see what you can find another day! Don't forget that some minibeasts like to live in cool, damp places so you may need to search under pots or logs and don't forget your spade

Whilst coronavirus is infectious to children it is rarely serious. If your child is unwell it is likely to be a non-coronavirus illness, rather than coronavirus itself. Whilst it is extremely important to follow Government advice to stay at home during this period, it can be confusing to know what to do when your child is unwell or injured. Remember that NHS 111, GPs and hospitals are still providing the same safe care that they have always done. Here is some advice to help:
Please remember to try to join in with your child's RWI phonics session online each day if you can.
Here is the link to follow where you will find the new session for each day: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ Thank you for all your hard work during the past term and a huge well done for taking your learning home.
As we begin the Easter Holiday, I would like you to have a little break, spend time with your family, enjoy playing in the garden and make some memories. We miss you all lots and hope to see you emailing in some of the amazing things that you have done during the Easter Holiday. Mrs Watson, Miss McGinnes, Miss Hodgson and Mrs Greenhalgh xx If you would like to try a different kind of exercise and like Harry Potter.
Try some cosmic Yoga on You tube. This half term our topic has been animals. There is no better place to go and see a variety of unusual animals than the zoo. You maybe at home but if you go to www.chesterzoo.org/ you will be able to watch some of the animals in the virtual zoo.
Could you draw a picture of your favourite animal and write some facts about that animal. Remember to use your 'Fred talk' to write the sounds you hear in words. Remember fingerspaces and a full stop at the end. Please share your pictures and writing with me. Usually in the weeks before the Easter holidays we would be doing lots of fun Easter Activities in class. There are a few you could do at home to bring the joy of Easter to your family. Get a grown up to hard boil an egg so that you can decorate it. It would be great to see your decorated eggs. Please send pictures of your eggs to school so that we can see them. draw some egg shapes and use your pens and crayons to decorate with patterns. Can you decorate some repeating pattern eggs? Remember a repeating pattern can be colours or shapes or patterns. If you have some card you could make a little chick hatch out of an egg. These little characters are made out of paper cups. If you don't have feathers you could make some out of paper. |
