Today we have started researching the prices of PVC banners as part of our campaign to promote road safety outside of school. We have looked at various prices on the internet and are going to take these back to Mrs Lawson. Additionally, we have also started to put together designs that we would like on our finished banner. However, this will be an ongoing task to ensure that we make the banner the best it can be.

Following on from our previous meeting about the issues we are currently having in relation to the school drive, today we have discussed potential solutions:
Running down the drive:
As School Council Leads, we have arranged a trip for the School Council to visit Barnsley Town Hall on Wednesday 3rd May 2017. The trip will leave school at 1:00pm and we will be back in school for the end of the school day at 3:15pm. The children will be transported to and from Barnsley Town Hall on the community minibus.
Our School Council members will get the chance to see the Town Hall building, learn about Barnsley Council and see how the council is run. The trip begins with refreshments in the Reception Room before heading to the Council Chamber where children will be given the chance to sit in the Council’s seats. Following this, the children will then visit the Mayor’s Parlour where they will meet the Mayor. This will give the children the chance to find out about what the Mayor does and have the opportunity to ask questions. On departure, each member of our School Council will receive a small gift.
