In Science we have been investigating how water moves around a plant. We learnt some very tricky words xylem and phloem, these are the tubes that move water in a plant. The children enjoyed exploring celery lettuce and flower stems looking for the tubes. The celery, lettuce and flower were put in red and blue food colouring overnight and the children we all keen to see the changes the next morning! We found the celery had absorbed the most colour and the blue colouring seemed to be absorbed more than the red. The lettuce was very blue as you can see on the picture. Team AC had great fun while doing some fantastic learning.
