This week we have loved being Scientists exploring ice in our water tray. We discovered that our cheeky elf had frozen some of our toys inside the ice and we investigated how to get them out. The children loved feeling the ice in their hands and there was such a lot of lovely language and talk. The children used words such as "icy, freezing, cold, frozen, wet and slippy" to describe the ice. They also noticed that after a while it began to melt in the warm classroom. At the end of the day, the children had the opportunity to fill some containers with water and put them in the freezer. We are hoping they will have turned into ice by the morning!
