Today the children in nursery were excited to come dressed in red to raise money for Red Nose Day. We spoke about raising money to help people who are not as lucky as we are and we sang a red nose day song together. We also talked about making each other laugh and we told some jokes which was great for developing our oracy skills. Here are the morning children having fun telling jokes together: We also went on a red nose hunt around our classroom. Each nose had a different facial expression on it and we talked about how we thought each face was feeling: happy, sad, worried, angry, shocked etc. We had a challenge to find all the different facial expressions on our chart and we worked really well as a team too. The 30 hours children were surprised to find that after dinner time, the noses had been moved around! Lots of our provision activities were red themed too. We enjoyed exploring red water, creating red collage pictures and designing our own red noses. We also helped to raise more money by bringing in buns and buying them too! The children enjoyed eating them as a special treat at snack time!
