There have been so many important events happening lately that we have been learning about. At the beginning of the week we were learning all about Diwali - The Festival of Light. We read the story of Rama and Sita to learn how and why the celebration takes place. There were lots of exciting activities we took part in including making paper lanterns in our creative area and making clay diva lamps being really careful to mould the clay into the correct shape. At the end of the week our learning was focused on Remembrance and why we have a special day to remember the soldiers and events that happened so long ago. We all made a poppy and wore it with pride! We made some beautiful photo frames to take home and place a picture of someone who is special to us. We also talked about purple poppies and how important it is to remember the animals who helped soldiers in the war. On Welly Walk we collected lots of different shapes, sizes and colours of leaves and have begun to make a beautiful patterned fence by weaving the leaves in and out of each other. You might spot this when you walk past our nature area! We have been taking part in some mindfulness activities including smelling spices and talking about what they remind us of and have completed some lovely colouring activities. Instead of our daily mile we took part in some Yoga activities to help us keep fit and healthy and to also help relax our mind!
