We have all learnt lots about people who help us and emergency services this week! For the first half of the week learnt about doctors and health care workers who help us stay well and make us better. Our Role Play Area was a doctors surgery and we learnt and used lots of new words which helped us to make our friends better including "medicine," "patient" and "examination." We carefully looked at real x-rays and created our own using straws, white paint and black paper. We cut the straws really small to include lots of detail! In our Investigation Area the Rainbows completed a fingerprint investigation and also have been learning about the importance of keeping clean. For the second half of the week learnt about being firefighters. We counted and sprayed out "flames" in our water tray with numbers on, and have been ordering these numbers too. In our Small World Area we created and built a fire station and used new vocabulary to tell stories. We used words such as "rescue" "emergency" and "support". We made some AMAZING fire engines in our junk modelling area and carefully added lots of detail after we painted them, sticking on wheels, windows, ladders and hoses. Rainbows have loved programming "Beebot" our class robot with instructions. Beebot was a fire engine this week and he needed to put out fires around our town. We programmed him with instructions one at a time so he moved across the map and could rescue the people!
