This week we have been learning about rhyme through our class story of Commotion in the Ocean and learning about sea creatures. We have enjoyed looking using 'google' to find videos of our favourite sea creatures from seahorses, jellyfish, hammerhead sharks and the giant octopus. Our class had an unusual creature in the form of Ollie the Octopus and his amazing textured tentacles. The children had to use their senses to feel from different textured materials to see if they could match a material to Ollie's tentacles and then describe the different materials by their properties. The Children were brilliant at this. However Olllie was less amazing and need ed his balloon head replacing at least 3 times as the children watched with amusement as his head got smaller and smaller sparking some scientific discussion about what exactly was happening to his head.
