This half term, Team LF have started their 'Light' topic in Science. We have focussed on the human eye, identifying and labelling the parts. The children learnt that light rays travel in straight lines, reflecting off an object and then travelling in a straight line to the eye. They then moved on to learning about what happens when light hits a mirror, and this linked onto understanding about how periscopes work. Within our 'Pattern Seeking' lesson, the children investigated whether the distance from the sun impacts on a planet's temperature and whether there were any patterns in this. We recognised that as the planets become further from the sun, their temperature becomes cooler. However, there was at least one anomaly. Want to know which planet didn't fit the pattern? Ask one of the Team LF scientists to tell you more!
