This week our learning has focused around the book ‘Night Monkey Day Monkey’ by Julia Donaldson and our activities have been based around light and dark, opposites and jungle animals!
In the writing area we have had the opportunity to use our Fred Fingers to write ‘I can see…’ sentences about what we can see in the day and at night. In the maths area, we have had the opportunity to make the Numberblocks up to Number 7 using the unifix cubes. Our Year 1’s in provision have been consolidating counting a set of objects and writing the numeral. In the creative area, we were tasked with making a jungle animal out of our junk modelling resources! In the painting area, we have been painting our hands to print them onto the paper and adding detail to our handprints to make handprint monkeys! For our funky finger activity this week we had to use tweezers to balance pom poms on top of the golf tees which were stuck in play dough! On Thursday, our class Elf, Buddy arrived! We can’t wait to see what mischief he gets up to each day in the countdown to Christmas!
