A Park Street Production

With only two more teaching weeks until Team CB have chance to take a well earned rest, we have been working really hard to ensure we are getting the most from our learning. This week, we started a new Literacy unit based on script writing. As is tradition, next week Team CB have their annual Christmas production to put on for parents. With this in mind, the class have been working hard understanding the features of play scripts and how to format them, ready for using the skills to create our own. We have story boarded our ideas to create a drama peice to present to our parents next week. The class are mightily excited! I must say, our audition process was incredible and the talent that those children have was clearly evident! I cannot wait for parents to see the hard work the children have put in!

Meanwhile, in Maths we have been busy mastering multiplication. The week began with the children looking at multiples, factors and products. They were particularly good at spotting factor pairs of a number, We then moved on to looking at multiplying and dividing numbers by 10,100 and 1000. The use of practical learning tools really helped the children to see their learning before moving to an abstract form. To conclude our week, we have started to look at using the formal written method to help us learn how to calculate larger problems.
