Well, what a first week back it has been! Team CB have been so incredibly busy this week with lots of new learning taking place.
This week, Team CB have completed their Spring assessments and I could not be more proud of the progress they have shown. What an excellent job the class have all done at learning new skills this year! They should all be so very proud of themselves as their reading, writing, SPAG and maths have developed fantastically since our last checkpoint. Elsewhere, this week the class have moved away from Anglo Saxons and started to explore the Vikings. The class received a visit from a Viking who was planning to raid Lindisfarne Monastery. Through hot seating, the class deduced why this was happening and how it affected the Anglo Saxon citizens. Children generated their own lines of inquiry before developing an understanding of who the Vikings were and when they arrived in Britain. This week has also been a very exciting week as it was the first of our Swimming sessions. The class absolutely loved swimming and were brilliant at listening to the expectations given, following instructions and trying really hard to master new skills. I cannot wait to see how the children progress over the coming months! I'm sure by the end of the Summer they will all be absolutely brilliant swimmers! Keep up the great work Year 4. Be sure to check back next week to see what Team CB have been getting up to, we will have a creative writing session inspired by Harry Potter, as well as lots of exciting events centred around World Book Day!
