What a busy week we have had in Team CB! This week in our Maths, we completed our learning linked to finding the perimeter, before we moved on to investigating area. The class hand very hands on experiences, where they used resources to understand that area of a shape is the amount of space taken up by the shapes surface. From this, the class then investigated finding the area through counting squares, and understanding the importance of recording their answer with cm2. Next week, we will continue to master the concept of area.
In our Literacy this week, we have been fetching our writing to life from our Anglo Saxon newspaper reports. The class have been working really hard, to edit their writing and uplevel the content within it. They then published their piece and delivered a flurry of newspapers to the school to share the earth-shattering news. I'm sure the children of park street were very much shocked to hear what was currently happening! In our Science this week we headed down to the nature reserve in order to complete an invertebrate hunt using a classification key. The class were fantastic at using the key and assessing the questions to determine what species they could have. The class certainly came back with a buzz about them and were eager to share the types of invertebrate they had found and what classification they belonged to. In our history, the class have used different drama techniques to support in their understanding of the structure of Anglo Saxon society. They worked their way from National structures, to the roles assigned within villages and why all roles were vital to supporting one another. Check in with us next week to see what we get up to in our final week before half term.
