This week we have worked incredibly hard on recognising how numbers used to be formed as Roman Numerals. We spent time understanding the reason that we shifted towards our current number system, before working out the value of different numerals. From this we created and solved our own problems which required us to write in numerals, before calculating numbers up to 100.
In Literacy, we have been busy completing our writing liked to our whole class fairy tale. The class worked hard to ensure the story flowed and spent time developing ideas from our shared writing, before continuing independently. Next week, we will begin our redraft and edit process before producing our best work and celebrating our stories with Year 2. I am sure the class will be so eager to share their first independent write! Meanwhile, in topic this week, we have been looking and rivers and how they are formed. We spent time investigating the features of a river before moving towards looking at key European rivers and where these can be found on a map. The class are working hard to develop their maths skills in particular! Keep up the good work Team CB! Next week, we will be working hard to investigating experiments which link to States of Matter. Make sure you pop back to read about how we got on.
