Shapes and Sagas

This week has been yet another busy one! Starting with Maths, our class worked hard to consolidate their knowledge of angles up to and including a straight line angle. From this, we began exploring how to estimate angles using our knowledge of the right angle. We concluded the week by looking specifically at 2d shapes, their names, properties and how to classify them, before looking more closely at the angles they possess. 

In our Literacy, this week we put pen to paper as we drew upon all the skills and knowledge we had developed over the last few weeks to help begin writing our myths. The class' contribution was fantastic with so many high quality ideas and a range of different suggestions and for how our myth could unfold. Over the course of the week we wrote the entire piece which is ready to be edited, upleveled and then published, before our battle with Year 5. 

In our afternoons, we have been working hard on our Science, as part of Science week. We were lucky enough as a school to have a Science show on Wednesday, which the children absolutely loved and learned many new things from. In our own learning, we had been classifying plants as well as animals using our knowledge of classification keys.

I would like to take this opportunity to say what a fantastic attitude towards learning the children have had! I am so very proud of each and every one of them!!!
