Over the past few weeks we have been learning a simple accompaniment to a song about dinosaurs. We have been learning about pitch, beat and rhythms too and what the notes to our accompaniment look like on music lines (the stave).

Literacy - writing descriptions of a stone age village.
Maths - solving problems involving division and multiplication.
Science - testing items around the classroom to see if they are magnetic or not. 
Spanish - Learning to say what our name is.
Reading - Iron man story chapter 1.

What we have been doing this week:
In Science we have been testing cars on different surfaces to see how far they can travel. We used a toy catapult to fire the Blaze car over the grass, the playground, the carpet and the desk top. We found out that the carpet was the best surface for the car to travel on as it was smooth and flat but it also had just the right amount of friction to hold the car in place. The desktop was too slippery for the car to travel on as it kept sliding all over due to not enough friction.

In Literacy we have been reading Stone Age boy and thinking about what questions we might want to ask the boy who visited Stone Age.

In maths we have been dividing by 4 and 8 and solving real life problems.

In maths we have been focusing on division by 2, 5 and 10 and solving problems using sharing and grouping.

In science we have learnt about friction. We carried out an experiment to see which shoes Mrs Crossfield should wear to hike down a mountain. We put each shoe on a ramp and measure the height that it started to slip to see how much grip (friction) the show had. We were all surprised by our findings!
