Team DB Art Update

ART UPDATE TEAM DB
This term we are exploring ‘Where would you like to visit in Europe?’ and the children will be working in groups to create sculptures of iconic buildings found at famous landmarks across Europe. In preparation for this we have been exploring famous landmarks and sketching them in artbooks, focussing on the architecture of the various buildings. We have been using different media to sketch our drawings, mainly using pencil, to identify the patterns used in the architecture of the buildings. We have worked using photographs of the landmarks and have begun to discuss plans for our final 3d model in our groups.
Our artist of the half term is Renzo Piano and we are going to be investigating the techniques that he used to create iconic landmarks throughout Europe, implementing some of his methods and ideas into our own sculptures.
