The Booktrust have some lovely online stories on their website. There are story books with illustrations to listen to and storytime videos. Some you will be familiar with but there are some lovely stories you may not have heard before. Scrolling down their page you will find some games and at the bottom there are some lovely rhymes to listen to.
Which is your favourite story to listen to? Let me know and when we are all back together at school we can read it together! https://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/have-some-fun/storybooks-and-games/ The Fabulous Flamingos loved learning about life in Medieval times with our Knights and Castles topic. Murton Park - The Yorkshire Museum of Farming is home to the Danelaw Centre for Living History.
The museum focuses on different eras in history from prehistoric to World War II. They have released some videos on their Facebook Page which are well worth a watch to help learn more about Britain's life in the past. Follow the link and scroll down their page to find out more. https://www.facebook.com/MurtonPark/ I am really missing the opportunity to have lots of fun and go and visit exciting places! Below are some links to follow if you are wishing like me that you were on holiday! There are virtual tours, live webcams and much more! I particularly like the live penguin webcam! There are also some links that mums and dads will enjoy too! Have fun!
TTS have published a pack of brilliant free home learning activities. There are so many different fun things to try including science activities, maths activities, stories and rhymes, letters and numbers! Please have a look at the wealth of activities on offer. I would love to see what activities you have been completing at home, whether it is these from TTS or anything else you have been doing! Please email any photos or details to parkstreet@ecmtrust.co.uk and put FAO Miss Clementson in the subject box. Have fun!
Please find some links below to some mindfulness activities. It is really important to have some "quiet time" and you can all listen as a family! My favourite is the Sleeping Dragon! I hope you enjoy it!
Explaining the current situation to children can be difficult. The link below provides some information that may be useful and has some key bits you may wish to pick out from it.
