Today is Earth Day and its goal is to teach everyone to appreciate nature and to understand the effects that humans have on damaging the planet. I am sure most of you have seen on the news about the canals in Venice improving during the lockdown and the animal visitors that towns and cities are experiencing now many people are at home. It is really easy to appreciate nature, even during a lockdown! I would like you to see the different types of nature you can experience from home! The Nature Detectives website has lots of brilliant resources and I have included a couple of their documents below. I would like you to see what birds you can spot and to try and encourage them into your garden. You can do this by making simple bird feeders, or even just by filling up your own. The documents below are a good start but there are plenty of other things you can do to encourage nature into your garden. You could spend a few minutes bird watching everyday for one week and I am sure you will begin to notice a few of the same birds returning to your feeder.
