This half-term in History we have begun our topic on 'Why are these people famous?'. We began by starting the topic thinking about what history is and comparing past London to modern London, we used our knowledge from Geography last term to successfully locate London and know that it is the capital of London. The children sorted pictures of London past and present. We then looked at the jobs that people held in 1666 such as gong farmers, rat-catchers, chimney sweeps and chandler. We discussed how firefighters then were different to firefighters today. Team EO then explored Tudor buildings and discussed why they were called Tudor houses. The Year 1 children have had to draw, label and make Tudor houses to show what they have learnt. I can't wait to show you these when they are finished!
