Superheroes

We have loved learning about superheroes this week! We have written in speech bubbles what we think superheroes might say, made a split pin Spider-Man and also had lots of fun exploring in our Autumn area!

In Literacy we have been focusing on segmenting and blending to read and write. We have been reading words for Spiderman that are VC and CVC words. We have been learning to write words within a phoneme frame by talking like a robot and writing the sounds in the correct order. Some of us have been learning to point to each sound and blend them together and make changes if we have written them in the wrong order. We have been learning to read tricky words this week and spot these in books.

In maths we have been learning one more this week, and some of us have been learning two more and ten more identifying the value of the digits in two digit numbers. We began by using objects and adding one more object to see how many there were altogether. Then we moved onto using a number line to understand that one means counting on to the next number. Some of us have been able to do this in our head with no visual support!
