This week our learning has been on 'Heroes' we have spoken about real life heroes such as doctors, nurses, the police and firefighters. We have also looked at superheroes. Our book this week was 'Supertato' we enjoyed listening to the different ways that Supertato saved the other veggies from the Evil Pea!
In Literacy the Year 1's have created their own superheroes which we have sent to Spiderman who requested our help to help him save the town. Reception children have had opportunities in provision to write about their day as a superhero and to create their own superhero too.
In maths Reception children have been learning all about the number 5, finding different ways to represent it and learning that the name of a shape with 5 sides is a pentagon. The Year 1's have been completing addition number sentences by counting on, on a number line to find the total.
In science Year 1's carried out an investigation, their enquiry question was 'Which material is best for making a boat?'. Children were able to give reasons to why they had chosen a specific material.
