Please see below for some resources to support children with SEND during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hi Team CM,
Please see the attached video Miss Garratt has created. It will give you some help in responding to activities I have posted on Seesaw. Hopefully, it might support you with completing activities and sending finished pieces back to me.
Take care, Miss McGinnes
Millie has had a go at our music challenge. I love the drum kit you and George have made! Happy music making!
Wow! Look at the fantastic castle Eli has made- very creative! I love the different colours you have used.
We are at the end of another week of learning at home with our families! I really hope you are all keeping safe and well and being good for your grown-ups too!
I hope you get lots of time to enjoy the sunny weather over the weekend. I am going to try and do a spot of gardening!
I hope you have all managed to get your link to the seesaw app. Next week I will be adding some learning challenges for you to have a go at onto seesaw. I love seeing your photos so please upload whatever you are doing to the app so I can have a look!
I am missing you all and hope it won't be too long before we can all be together again in nursery.
Take care, Miss McGinnes
As a school, we are committed to ensuring your child gets the best possible education that we can offer. The current circumstances are proving to be a bit of a challenge for us all and we know that education is quite difficult at the moment whilst we are facing this pandemic.
With this in mind, we have subscribed to the online platform ‘SeeSaw’. SeeSaw is a platform that allows teachers to set home learning for each child in their class.
Over the next few days, you will be receiving an email (with an attachment of the document below) that provides you with more information about how Seesaw works and how we are going to use it as a school. You will also receive your child's log on details in this email. Please look out for this arriving in your inboxes.
As of Monday 27th April 2020, all learning and activities will be placed on Seesaw and not on class blog pages. Although we will continue to post blogs regularly, we will not be using them to the extent that we have done over the past few weeks,
Many thanks for your cooperation and understanding.
Life and parenting can be challenging in normal situations. The situation we find ourselves in currently is far from normal.
We have put together a number of useful links and documents, as well as advice on how to deal with some difficult situations you might find ourselves in. Please take a look at the information below and do not hesitate to contact school if you would like any additional information regarding these topics or anything else you need advice and support about - if we cannot help, we will know who can.
Good morning! It's a lovely sunny day so I hope you manage to get some fresh air and enjoy yourselves in the sun!
If you would like a number challenge today, here are a few ideas for you to have a go at:
- go on a number hunt around your house or outside- where can you find numbers? Which numbers can you spot? How many of the same number can you find?
- have a go at counting and sorting using your toys.
- you could practise writing numbers with pens, paint, chalks or in a tray of salt or you could make numbers with play dough if you have any.
- here are some number songs you could sing to help you:
Remember to show the amount on your fingers and count how many are left each time.
Music is a really important part of the curriculum in Early Years and we learn through songs every day in nursery. Here are a couple of songs linked to our theme of growing:
Have fun learning and singing the songs together.
You could make yourself some musical instruments to play along with. You could use pots and pans and spoons to create sounds- what different sounds can you make?
You could make your own shakers from used containers and fill them with rice, sand or pasta. Do they all sound the same? Which sound do you like best?
Or you might have your own idea for making music!
Use your home made instruments to play along as you sing. You could make up different rhythms with them and have fun dancing along too.
