Today we invited our parents and carers to join us for our welly walk at the nature reserve. The children enjoyed showing their special adults around our amazing outdoor learning environment. They went on a minibeast hunt, developed their physical skills on our swinging rope and even had a go at den building.
In order to enhance our learning in our Amazing Animals topic, today we had a visit from Wigfield Farm. We were lucky enough to meet a bearded dragon, a snake and a rabbit. The children enjoyed touching the animals and finding out about how to care for them.
Today we had fun in nursery raising money to support Red Nose Day. All the children came to nursery wearing red and some had red noses and glasses too!
The children enjoyed throwing wet sponges at Miss McGinnes- some of them had a really good aim!
Well done to the nursery winners of the design a red nose competition- Scarlett in morning nursery and Sofia in afternoon nursery.
This week the children in nursery became Scientists as we carried out lots of fun activities to help us learn about changes. For our first activity, we mixed cornflour and water to make gloop and investigated what happened as we added different amounts of each ingredient. The children were fascinated by the texture!
For our second investigation we explored ice. The children found out that the ice melted in the warm classroom but could be changed back to ice again by returning it to the freezer.
We also enjoyed melting chocolate! Once we had investigated what happened to the chocolate, we used it to decorate biscuits- yummy!
