THE LEGENDARY LEARNERS
Whilst coronavirus is infectious to children it is rarely serious. If your child is unwell it is likely to be a non-coronavirus illness, rather than coronavirus itself. Whilst it is extremely important to follow Government advice to stay at home during this period, it can be confusing to know what to do when your child is unwell or injured. Remember that NHS 111, GPs and hospitals are still providing the same safe care that they have always done. Here is some advice to help:

Firstly, I really hope you had a fabulous Easter and managed to tuck into lots of delicious Easter Eggs. We are all missing you enormously and can't wait to have you all back in school. Just to let you know that each week I will be adding maths and literacy lessons for each day here on the blog. If you need any advice, help or support please feel free to contact me via the teacher contact page or via school email or telephone contact. If you feel some of the work here is not pitched right for you please feel free to dip into learning activities form other year groups. Ask your grownups to keep checking the school Twitter feed as there are lots of fab ideas on there too. Our Summer term topic is CHOCOLATE so I have set you a few tasks linking to this, covering a range of curriculum areas - see below. I hope you are all having a go at PE each day with Joe Wicks and don't forget to log on to Charanga to have a go at some of the music activities I have set you. Most importantly stay safe and have fun. Good luck and get cracking!
Hi Team LL. Please find a link to this weeks maths lessons from White Rose. If you need any further help please feel free to contact me via the teacher contact page. BBC bitewise maths is also really helpful.
Here is the link: whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-6/ The idea is that each day you look through the video presentation. This is the teaching bit. You then have a go at the activity. Once you have completed you can check your answers. Please feel free to get in touch if you need any help. Team LL please find below literacy lessons and activities for each day this week. Please don't forget to read everyday too. The lessons below are the second week of Harry Potter themed learning. See the posts before the Easter Holidays for the first week. Any problems please contact me via the teacher contact page on the first Team LL group page.
Our topic for the Summer Term is ...CHOCOLATE. Yum! Yum! Your challenge this week is to carry out some research. What is chocolate? Where does it come from? How is it made? Does it grow on trees? Are there different kinds of chocolate? Basically, you need to find out as much as you can. If you follow the link below it will take you to a Youtube video which tracks the journey of chocolate. You may need to keep stopping the video to make notes. It contains a lot of information. vimeo.com/search?q=Barry+Callebaut+Johan+Coopman Below I have attached a presentation about how chocolate is made. I have attached Powerpoint and PDF versions. YOU COULD PRESENT YOUR RESEARCH IN NOTE FORM, AS A BOOKLET OR MAYBE AS A PRESENTATION ON YOUR COMPUTER OR TABLET.
YOUR ART TASK THIS WEEK IS TO INVENT, DESIGN, DRAW AND LABEL YOUR OWN DELICIOUS CHOCOLATE PRODUCT. Let you imaginations run wild. If your grown ups are on twitter I would love to see your creations if they could tweet them by following Park Street Primary School.
The Summer Term science topic is about reversible and irreversible changes. Please take a look at the following. Here are a selection of clips from BBC Bitewise revising materials and also introducing reversible and irreversible changes. Watch each of them and make notes. Maybe you could tell a grown up what you have learnt.

Follow the link below www.stem.org.uk/home-learning We would just like to wish each and every one of you a very happy Easter. I have heard from lots of parents and carers, who have mentioned just how hard you have been working since school closed. Thank you - we are so proud. Please have a rest over the Easter break. Have some fun with your family and enjoy your time together over the holiday. I have added a few fun Easter activities in the blog below and some links for virtual visits. I will continue to add maths and literacy lessons, the first week back after the Easter break.
We are missing you all so very much. Take care. Sending all our love to you and your families. Mrs Longden, Mrs Clayton, Mrs Hinds and Miss MCSporran. It has been amazing to hear about all the hard work you have been doing at home. It sounds like you deserve a good rest over the Easter holidays. Just incase you find yourself getting bored, please find below a selection of Easter puzzles and art activities you might want to try.
I know doing the usual playing out and trips out over Easter is on hold for a while. Did you know lots of museums, galleries, zoos and theme parks are offering virtual tours? Why not check some of them out? See a list below to get you started. Enjoy!
