Welcome back to the second half of the Autumn term in nursery, '
This half term, our new theme for learning is "Sparkle and Shine" which is all about colour and light. This week we are focusing on Bonfire Night. Today we looked at some different firework pictures and talked about the different colours, shapes and sounds. The children described the sounds using words including bang, boom and pop. We also introduced the words woosh and wheee! At group time, the children enjoyed pretending to be fireworks. They curled up in a ball and then blasted off into the night sky making the different sounds and shapes with their bodies. We have enhanced lots of our provision areas linked to this theme. In the mark making area, we have black paper and chalks which the children have used to create their own firework pictures. They drew different patterns including swirls, spirals, stars, zig zags and lines. In the painting area, the children had glittery paint and used cotton buds to create different patterns. We have also had glittery dough with sequins, glittery gloop to explore in our sensory tray and glittery water, Here are some photos of us learning in our provision so far this week.
