As part of our learning this week, we have found out that millions of years ago dinosaurs hatched out of eggs!
Today we decided to make edible dinosaur eggs for our baking activity. Firstly, we started with butter and the children found out that it melted when it was put into the microwave. Next we added marshmallows and melted those too. Then the children crushed oreo biscuits with a spoon and stirred in rice crispies. Finally this was added to the melted mixture and the children all had a turn at stirring it. Once the mixture was ready, the children used their hands and fingers to mould it into an egg shape. Some children liked the texture but some were not too keen! The words they used to describe it were: gooey, sticky, crispy, hard, noisy and crunchy.
