Our new book of the week is "Elmer" by David McKee. Today we read the book and talked about how Elmer is different to the other elephants because he is not grey- he is patchwork! This linked in well with our theme of how it is okay to be different and also with our colours theme. In the small world area, we have jungle animals and the children have been using the different materials to build a jungle for Elmer and his animal friends. In the creative area, we have been creating our own patchwork elephants and in the mark making area we have been designing our own patterns for an elephant.
