Today we had great fun in nursery creating our own firework dance using ribbons. We practised different moves with our ribbons including circles. zig zags, swirls and spinning. Then we put on some music and a firework show background and the children created their own dance moves using the ribbons. The children loved exploring the different moves they could make and this is a fantastic activity for developing their gross motor skills. When we finished, we sat down and realised that our hearts were beating faster and we were feeling hot and sweaty. We talked about healthy exercise and then we all had a drink of water to re-hydrate ourselves. What a great learning opportunity! Here are some photos of us in action:
