Learning about shapes

In our group times this week we have been learning about shapes and linking this to the shapes needed to build a house. Some of the children have been building using small wooden blocks and talking about their models while spotting shapes in them. Others have been investigating how to arrange lollipop sticks to create different shapes. We have been using words such as circle, triangle, rectangle, square, oval, hexagon, curved, round, straight, sides and corners.
