Shapes learning

This week in nursery, our learning has focused around the theme of shapes. At group time, we have used wooden blocks to build models and tried to talk about them using shape language such as round, tall, circle, square, triangle, rectangle. We have also been singing shape songs to help us to learn their names and drawing shapes in the air with our fingers.
We have also been creative using shapes. We printed shape pictures using paint and different shapes and we have also made shape pictures by sticking shapes onto paper. 
See if your child can spot any shapes in the environment around your house or when you are walking out and about. They will soon learn that shapes can be found everywhere!
