The Enormous Turnip!

Our new book of the week is "The Enormous Turnip." We have read the book and talked about how big the turnip was using words such as big, huge, ginormous, gigantic and massive. Not many children knew what a turnip was so we talked about vegetables and named lots of different ones. In the painting area, we have been printing with vegetables and some of us have tried to make our prints into a recognisable picture. In our provision we have had a large turnip and the children have been using it to act out the story with their friends.
