Year 6 Maths This Half Term

We have been tackling fractions this half term. We began with finding equivalents, comparing and ordering fractions. We then moved on to addition and subtraction of fractions where the denominators were the same and then when they were different. We are experts at finding the lowest common multiple and making sure our fractions have common denominators but remain equivalent to the original fractions. It doesn't stop there we are also able to multiply fractions by fractions and fractions by integers. We are also now able to divide fractions by integers. We have developed the skills to convert improper fractions to mixed fractions and back again and also to simplify our answers as required. We can also find fractions of amounts. In our final week before Christmas we will be learning how to plot co-ordinates in all four quadrants. To be honest it is pretty exhausting being a Year 6 at Park Street - but we do love maths!
