Park Street’s Gallery of Art
We (children on the Arts council) have noticed that lots of children enjoy painting, drawing, model making and craft at home. We think it would be great if we have a weekly theme for children who enjoy being creative to have a go at. Basically pupils and staff are welcome to have a go at creating a piece of art work based on a weekly theme. If any master pieces can be handed in to the Arts Council we will put all the homework on display to form a gallery in the hall. Here are the themes for next half term. The idea is children have a week to work on a piece of art based on the theme and it will go on display the week after. Children will need to add their name and class to the back of their work. Grownups are more than welcome to join in! Themes to base your art work on Theme for week 1 Autumn or season pictures. Theme for week 2 Food including fast food, your favourite dinner, breakfast or lunch, fruit, vegetables, chocolate, sweets, snacks etc. Theme for Week 3 Animals real animals, pets, wild animals, mini-beasts, mythical, fantastical, one you have made up, dinosaurs etc. Theme for Week 4 Superheroes or Disney Characters Ones that you have seen at the cinema or on the tv OR try creating your own Theme for Week 5 Plants and flowers Theme for Week 6 Special places your house, classroom, favourite holiday destination, garden, fantasy settings, imagined other worlds,

After a really successful meeting the Arts Council have agreed on some really exciting ideas which they will be launching over the second half of the Autumn Term.
1. Christmas artwork competition: Billy came up with a fantastic idea. He has suggested we run a competition through school where all pupils are invited to enter a piece of artwork based on the theme of Christmas. The Arts council agreed this was a fab idea and suggested we collect some prizes. The team felt it would be appropriate to have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize for each phase of school (EYFS, KS1 and KS2). 2. Display for budding artists to share their work: This week Hayley brought it to the attention of the Arts Council that she thinks lots of children enjoy painting and drawing at home and that it would be a great idea to display their work in school. She added that this may even encourage children to come of their tablets and devices and get more creative. Great ideas Team! Watch this space for further information |
