Team AC and Team CB have had an amazing time at Murton Park today. We are so lucky that the children have had this opportunity and thank you to our parents for supporting school and for making this happen! We know the trip was a costly trip, but we worked together for the good of the children and what fun they had - even though the weather was very chilly! Teachers reported that the children's behaviours were outstanding on the trip and once again our Park Streeters represented school brilliantly! Well done!
Thank you to staff for organising the trip.

A big THANK YOU to Miss McGinnes who has recently held reading workshops for parents in school. They have been to inform our Reception children's parents about Read, Write, Inc and how we teach Phonics in school and also to explain how they can best support at home too. Another workshop has helped to inform parents about the Phonics Screening Check which Years 1 children will take at the end of this academic year.
Thank you to those parents who were able to come to the 2pm or 5pm workshop. If you were unable to OR would like to find out even more, please email parkstreet@ecmtrust.co.uk and Miss McGinnes will be in contact! Thank you for recognising and sharing Park Street's view that reading is an essential skill for children to have as early as possible! This week at Park Street we have focused learning on anti-bullying. We have discussed what bullying is and how Park Street has a zero tolerance to this. We have spoken about how staff care deeply for each child and would always want to know if they felt in danger and would ALWAYS act on this. We also spoke about the fact that this applies to their safety at school, but also out of school in the local community or online. School would always support our children!
We celebrated our kindness towards each other in 'Odd Sock Monday' and also with 'Friendship Day' this Friday! A HUGE thank you to our School Councillors (and Miss Baxter) for organising an amazing Children in Need day for Park Street this last Friday! The day was planned to perfection, as you would expect with Miss Baxter and our very efficient School Council involved!
We all wore it yellow and spotty, held scavenger hunts through school, had a bun sale, held Art competitions and generally had an amazing time celebrating and raising money for a very important charity! Final amounts raised will be out to parents and children shortly! Well done Team Park Street! I was so very proud of your committments to supporting others, once again! The following children have produced such good Art work recently, that their work has been submitted to the Rotary Club Art competition and therefore will be displayed at the Metrodome gallery on Friday 18th November 4pm - 7pm and Saturday 19th November 10am - 5pm. It is a delight to see Park Street once again at the forefront of Art competitions! What a privilege! Well done to:
Samuel; Wilf; Lily-Mae; William; Alfie; Riley; David; Alex; Lily; Louie and Xander! This week in our Monday assembly, we have focused on Marcus Rashford and the amazing things he has done for young people!
We spoke about how important it is to use your powers to do good for other people. We talked about how his work is commendable and about how important it is to always be a good person towards other people. A BIG well done to Team CB and Team HG for their strong attendance rates last week!
Team CB - 97.9% Team DB - 99.1% Whole school - 96.1% Remember our target is 97% - let's go for it this week Park Street! We held a 2 minute silence at Park Street today at 11am, to remember all of the courageous men and women who have risked their life for our country and people, as well as those who have sadly fallen. Mr Fidment's assembly engaged the children in paying respect and thinking about the importance of the Poppy, at this time of the year. In class, children learnt more about Remembrance Day and in some classes, enjoyed talking about their knowledge of family members and what their contributions were towards various war efforts - so interesting and some very courageous families we have at Park Street.
Thank you to Mrs Fitchett for running our Art competition - the Poppies in the entrance of school look amazing! Well done Team Park Street! Today we have celebrated 'We LOVE words day' in school! At Park Street, we absolutely LOVE to read. We love reading independently, we love reading to others and we love reading with our parents and special people at home!
The children (and staff) were invited to come in to school dressed as their favourite word. It was so interesting to see which people chose which word! I myself chose 'rainbow' as I love a good rainbow, they always make me smile and they remind me of special people I have love. In and around school I loved 'ambivalent' from Ellwood; 'vibrant' from Lola, 'fragile' from Charlie - possibly the most creative costume ever!; 'artisitic' from Bronte-Mai; 'cool' from Melissa; 'feelings' from Maddi. Miss Baxter's was hilarious as she dressed for winter with the word 'baltic'! None of us were very impressed with Mr Fidment who came as 'legend' and claimed to be himself! We'll have to help him next year Park Street! Mr Fidment has held a workshop in school for parents this evening, to explore the KS2 SATS which the children will do at the end of this academic year and what we do in school to prepare the children and support them.
Thank you to all the families who attended. If you couldn't attend, but would like further information and support, please email parkstreet@ecmtrust.co.uk and Mr Fidment / Mrs Longden would be happy to help! |
