Parents join their children for Nursery Christmas Crafts 'Stay and Play sessions - 01.12.22!1/12/2022 Thank you to Miss McGinnes for organising this year's Christmas 'Stay and Play' sessions for parents to attend and craft alongside their child in Nursery! Miss McGinnes was overwhelmed by the amount of parental support this year! Everyone had an amazing time and some gorgeous crafts were created! Thank you once again for such amazing support from our parental community!

Our 10 Year 5 Mini Police have enjoyed their second session today, with South Yorkshire Police. They were very excited to once again be working with such Professionals and learning all about the role of a Policeman. Equally so, the SYP representatives were excited to be back at Park Street, working alongside our inquisitive and hard working children!
This session, the children looked at what they thought Anti-Social Behaviour meant in our local community. They discussed different examples and scenarios that might happen in our local community and had to give in-depth answers as to what the impact of these could be. Mrs Akyel reported that the children were all fabulous, and gave brilliant examples, including setting fires, graffiti, fly-tipping and dog fouling! The team are excited to be showing the children how to use their radios soon and are looking forward to the final event in the summer term, where they will be invited to celebrate their success with other Mini Police in the region! It is so pleasing to see the continued parental support for the school at 'Reading Together' sessions! These have been running for the whole term, but enthusiasm for the event is not dwindling! Our Nursery, Reception and Year 1 parents continue to see the importance of reading and support us in ensuring our youngest children are getting off to a flying start at Park Street! Don't forget, there are books to be won each week for your children to take home!
Keep reading Park Street! Thank you to our Governors who have attended school recently, for their Governor Development sessions. Governors have worked well with subject Leaders to look at the improvements to the curriculum which Leaders have been making. They have supported Leaders well and have contributed to plans and the next steps.
Thank you Governors for contributing so well to school life, we are really lucky to have your time and support! The winners of the decorate Pudsey competition for Children In Need were announced in Friday's assembly, today in week 4. They each received a prize and chocolates and the runners up also received a selection pack! Mrs Fitchett said it was difficult to choose a winner as the entries were so creative! Well done to:
Bronte-Mai – Team HG Holly – Team AC Jacob - Team JF Hunter – Team EO The 2 runners up were: Jenson - Team DB Amelia – Team LL A BIG well done to Team AC and Team DB for their strong attendance rates last week!
Team AC - 96.4% Team DB - 97.2% Whole school - 90.6% Remember our target is 97% - let's go for it this week Park Street! Members of our Year 4 and 5 Teams have had good success at Horizon College today, where they have taken part in a Girls Football Competition. The weather was absolutely apalling, but still the girls came back with huge smiles on their faces and Mr Smith reported that they had worked really hard and represented the school brilliantly!
Well done girls - you are on your way to the World Cup! A BIG thank you to Miss Clementson for organising the Eco-Reps to work alongside local community group TWIGGS, to help keep our local area free from litter! Our Eco-Reps once again made us very proud, by working co-operatively and sensibly with members of the TWIGGS team, to tidy up Park Street. This is a really commendable thing to do! We also thank TWIGGS for their efforts and time in supporting our children and helping to teach them about how best to look after our local community. Whilst on the pick, Jake found a £10, which he has decided to donate to charity - what a kind superstar!
Thank you also to Mrs Chavan, one of our School Governors, who has once again joined the Eco-Reps! The majority of children have received their flu vaccination today in school. Please read the leaflet which the children came home with for sign and symptoms of potential symptoms the children may have, following the nasal vaccination.
Let's hope this helps our children to not get too poorly over the winter months. Many thanks to Mrs Hitchens (PSA) and our amazing Parental Group at Park Street, for all of their efforts and enthusiasm in putting on an excellent couple of Discos. These have helped to raise funds for school, but the children absolutely LOVED their time at the Discos!
Lots of hard work goes in to organising such events, so thank you for your time and hard work! I am sure the rest of the school community will join me in thanking you too! As with lots of school events, it massively helps us when parents are able to stick to deadlines for purchasing tickets. This helps staff to be able to organise staffing and safeguarding measures in enough time, for the children to have the best time possible! |
