We have had another great week in school this week, with lots of activities and opportunitites for the children to learn from and enjoy! Highlights have been our Diwali dance workshops, a visit from the Imam, our Halloween School Disco and 'Wear it Bright' day on Friday to finish the half term off! A HUGE well done to the following Teams for their outstanding attendance this week: Team EO - 99% Team LF - 97.6% Whole school - 93.9% A BIG well done too to our Year 6 Teams who have managed to win the attendance award for this half term with 96.7% - well done, you are invited to come to school in non-uniform on the first day back as a reward! Don't forget to book a Parental Evening slot for the first two weeks back! Let's try and have 100% of parents in attendance! I hope you enjoy reading a bit more about our week in school. We have had a super week in school this week, celebrating our 'Anti-Racism' attitudes as part of 'Show Racism the Red Card' work! We have held a number of assemblies in school and shared lots of stories about significant and influential people who inspire others to become 'anti-racists'. It was wonderful to see the school community dressed all in red this Friday to celebrate together! We have enjoyed a number of special events in school this week, including our start to the Mini Police event where we had local members of the South Yorkshire Police in working with children in Year 5. We also enjoyed celebrating our recent Boys Football Team's celebration, as they won 14: 1 against King's Oak! Well done boys! We are all so proud, especially in the conditions that you found yourselves in! Years 4 and 5 enjoyed their Wombwell Walk as part of their Geography learning this week, further compaing Wombwell to Whitby. Well done Team LF on the amazing community feedback! Park Street character showed all of the time! Our 18 100% attendees for 2022-23 attended Pizza Hut for lunch on Friday, which was a celebration event LOVED by all - well done and thank you for such amazing attendance results! Again, we had some amazing feedback from our local community who saw us there having fun! Well done Park Street! Get reading Park Street - another 'D Day' will be coming up soon! Once again we have had a wonderful week in school! Well done to our three top attending TEAMS this week: Team JF and Team LF - 97.9% Team AF - 100% Whole school - 93.4% Keep going Park Street with our amazing attendance rates! In Assembly time this week we have covered a range of topics, from doin a significant person study on Thomas Barnardo, looking at discrimination and the protected characteristics, celebrated homelessness awareness day and Motzart in our Music Assembly. In Assemblies we have also handed out all of the certificates and awards for the special jobs in and around school. These include: Prefects Head Boy / Girl and Deputy Head Boy / Girl Eco-Reps Digital Leaders School Council Arts Council Reading Leaders Playground Leaders Well done to our 100% attendees for 2022-23! I look forward to celebrating with Pizzas on Friday lunch time at Pizza Hut this next week with al 18 of you! Phenomenol result! We also had a wonderful Times Table Rockstar launch day this last Friday, relaunching our committment to knwoing all of our times tables! We have had another great week in school this week! We have started our daily affirmations this week, with the aim of getting all of our learners in a positive mind set at the start of the day, so as they are learning ready. This compliments our 'below the line' assessment each morning for every child too! We have enjoyed learning about footballer Laurie Cunnigham as part of our Black History Month Assembly work. The children have also enjoyed learning about the legend Bob Marley, learning his 'Three Little Birds' song! We celebrate our Prefects and Head / Deputy Boys and Girls in this week's Newsletter too - well done to the chosen Year 6s! Our attendance this week has been as follows: Team CH - 100% Team LL - 99.1% Whole school - 94.5% Well done but let's keep going Park Street!
