Georgia in Team MK has been successful in making it to the final for the 'South Yorkshire Police' Christmas card competition final, which Year 6 took part in with Mrs Fitchett, our Art specialist!  The card was beautiful - well done Georgia for making it to the final 5!  We are really proud!

Our school has four teams of children - each child in each class is divided in to one of these four teams from Y1 - 6.  We strongly believe that 'Together Everyone Achieves More' (TEAM) and work hard for our rewards.  I am pleased to announce that this term's winners are:
4th place - Big Ben with 2,408 team points
3rd place - Eiffel Tower with 2,486 team points
2nd place - Niagara Falls with 2,755 team points
1st place - Taj Mahal with 2,757 team points
It was very close this term!  I look forward to out treats and DVD morning on Thursday! Well done Taj Mahal!  Keep up the hard work everyone!

This last week our KS1 children have performed some incredible Nativities in their teams for parents!  They have been a pleasure to watch.  Every single parent and family member had huge smiles on their faces whilst they watched their special people on stage!  Well done KS1 - I was incredibly proud of your musical achievements (singing was amazing), performing skills and confidence on the stage - not to mention your knowledge of the Christmas Nativity Story.  Well done KS1!

An enormous thank you goes out to our 'Friends of Park Street' parental group, who did an amazing job tonight to raise money for school funds!  They organised two performing groups (Abba and Elvis) to perform to parents and children in what was a thoroughly wonderful night!  Abba were amazing and Elvis was incredibly entertaining!  We all had such fun and raised money for the school - what more could we ask for?  A big well done to our 'Friends' and lots of thanks to the two performing groups!  A big well done goes to our Parent Support Advisor Mrs Carol Hitchens too, who co-ordinated the entire evening and made the hall look super!  Thank you ever so much - all proceeds will go towards developing reading in school for the benefit of the children!  Well done TEAM Park Street!

A HUGE well done to all of the Park Street team!  We have had our Christmas Coffee morning this morning - it was lovely to see so many parents supporting the school and children.  A really big well done to the stalls - Mrs Fitchett's club stall and the Team GG stall were particularly successful in raising money for use in after school clubs and for Team GG's trip.  Altogether we have raised just short of £900, which is an absolutely amazing amount of money!  We can not thank the parents and children enough!  The other money raised will go back in to the school funds, for us to use on reading resources for the children!  An amazing job and well done everyone!  I am so very proud!  Merry Christmas everyone!

Team AF and Team AG have raised a whopping £869 as part of their Sponsored Sing!  This is a HUGE amount of money!  Well done and thank you to all of your special people at home, for being so supportive and generous!  Your singing skills have really developed as a result of this, as have your confidence in performing and speaking in front of others!  What wonderful music learning progress and what a total to make!  This will now go towards your school trip!  Fabulous work!  THANK YOU!

I have had a wonderful Saturday afternoon today in Wombwell, with Mrs Longden, Mrs Fitchett and our Park Street children and families!  For a few weeks, Mrs Fitchett has been making some amazing Christmas lanterns with our KS2 children.  Today they had the chance to take part in a procession through Wombwell, with their lanterns, to mark the Christmas light switch on, as part of the 'Love where you Live' Barnsley project (run by Amada Bradshaw).  The children loved it - so thank you to everyone involved.  It was lovely to see so many of our Park Street children having fun within their community!  Thank you too to our Governor Mrs Chavan, for helping us to organise the event.  Well done Team Park Street!

We are thrilled here at Park Street today because we have managed to achieve the 'School Games GOLD Award' for the third year running!  Clare, from Team Activ, came in to school this morning to attend our Golden Book celebration assembly and present the whole school team with the plaque, which we'll keep in our awards cabinet in the main school reception area!  Well done Park Street!  Like she said, other people now are looking at YOU as to how to do sport well!  Brilliant news!  Well done and thank you Park Street!
