We have had another great week in school this week! We have done lots of learning about how to keep our school site and local community 'Green' after celebrating 'Green Week' in school. We have learnt about Greta Thunberg in Assembly time and learnt about what she believes. We have also discussed ideas in our Collective Worship time in class. We have continued to work hard on our attendance this week too. Well done to: Team CH - 99.6% Team SG - 99.2% Whole School - 94.8% We have all been inspired this week too by Raine in Team DB. She has worked her socks off over the years and has had her first WestEnd breakthrough this last month! She has also secured a Theatre role to be proud of...have a read! It is an absolute pleasure to have such an inspiration on our Team! Well done Raine, we couldn't be more proud! We hope you enjoy reading about our week in school and some of the things we are working on this year as a staff and school TEAM!

A huge thank you to our Year 4 and 5 staff team for a successful school trip to Whitby, as part of the children's learning in Geography, where they compare Wombwell to Whitby! The children's behaviours were exceptional and impressed the public in Whitby who commented positively on their outstanding behaviors! We have had a great week in school this week altogether. The children have continued to look smart in their school uniforms and have been loving their learning! Our Early Years new starters have continued to settle in to life at WPSPS. We have held our annual special job votes this week, to celebrate Democracy Day! All of our positions are now full and we look forward to awarding the children with new badges etc! Well done to Teal LF and Team AF for their attendance this week - £5 to you! Team LF - 98.6% Team AF - 100% Whole school - 94.6% It has been interesting to have the South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Team in school this week, providing our Year 3s with the opportunity to discuss fire and health safety. They listened incredibly well and had a great knowledge about keeping themselves and others safe, which is really reassuring. Please read our weekly Newsletter below as there is some more information, learning and top tips for parents on there too! We hope you enjoy reading more about our incredible week in school!
Welcome back Team Park Street! It is as if we have never been away! We have had a brilliant first week back with the children, having fun, making memories and building new relationships together. The children have been absolutely amazing, settling in to new routines and new learning, with new and old friends and new staff! Years 4, 5 and 6 have enjoyed their lunch times with new equipment on the Courts and Years Reception - Year 3 have had fun with their new equipment too on the field! The children look very smart in their new uniforms - thank you parents. As the year goes on, please don't struggle for uniform as we have LOTS and there is always the bank of uniform at Wombwell's Salvation Army as and when it is open. Well done to our leading attendance teams - Team JD, Team LF and Team LL who have all achieved 100% attendance this week! I hope you enjoy reading about our Incredible school in the week 1 Newsletter below!
