Team JF completed this half terms enquiry focus by solving a problem for the Three Billy Goats Gruff. They worked really hard to design, build and test a new bridge for them to walk over. They demonstrated great team work skills and designed some fabulous bridges!

Team JF have made a great start to their unit of learning. After a pre unit assessment, they moved into identifying a range of everyday materials and some of the objects made from these. Team CH have made a start o their new unit of learning, 'materials'. They identified some objects before deciding the materials and sorting.
Team CH have completed this half terms enquiry focus and solved the problem of how to keep the big bad wolf from blowing down the houses of the three little pigs!
Team EO carried out this half terms enquiry focus by solving the problem 'how to protect the golden egg from cracking'.
Team EO have made a great start on their new unit of learning. They have identified a range if objects and the material they are made from. The have also started to discuss man made and natural materials. American cartoonist, Rube Goldberg, designed silly contraptions which used an indirect and overly-complicated chain reaction to perform a very simple task. For our science enquiry, we built some out of everyday objects. We didn't have a task to achieve at the end; we just aimed for a chain of 4 reactions using different forces such as push, accelerate, drop, roll, etc. We managed to catch a few on film working all the way through, and some clips for the bloopers reel.
Check out their page for amazing photos! Team CB are also moving on to rocks. The class generated many thoughtful questions that they wanted to find the answer to in this topic. We will be comparing and sorting the physical features as well as learning about fossils and their formation.
Looking at different rock types: Metamorphic, igneous and sedimentary. We explored the different rocks and their name in each type and how they are formed, children made notes to support their learning in future weeks.
