To celebrate Remembrance Day, during their PSHE lesson, Team LF discussed the importance of remembering those who have sacrificed their lives for us and our freedom. They spoke about the phrase ‘Lest We Forget’ and how the words remind us not to forget those who have lost their lives in wars and conflicts while we live in peace.
As part of their discussion they also spoke about The Great War, Armistice Day, the Cenotaph, memorials, the significance of the poppy and Remembrance Sunday. They looked at photographs of the Cenotaph in November 1920, using their oracy skills to answer three main questions: What can we see? What can we infer? What do we wonder?
