Today Miss Clementson led a whole school history assembly and spoke about the importance of history and why we need to understand history to help us navigate our future.
Miss Clementson shared different types of evidence that we could use to learn about the past and brought in some items to show. The items in question were an iron from the early 1900's, a vintage tin opener from WW1, a cassette tape and a CD. The children were very good at guessing what the items were, what materials they were made out of and how they worked. They did need reassuring that the CD and cassette tape were from very recent history though!
